Frequently Asked Questions

Changing to mixed billing, what you need to know?

As we navigate through these financially challenging times, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued trust in us at Warwick General Practice. The cost involved in providing the highest standards of care is rising. However, Medicare rebates have not increased proportionately to help patients cover their healthcare fees. The occasional "band-aid" government funding does not provide sustainability to quality General Practice. Despite rising operational costs and stagnant Medicare rebates, it's crucial for us to remain committed to providing you with exceptional healthcare. From 1st June 2024, we will be changing to mixed billing practice to maintain the high standards of care and service that you deserve. We understand the importance of transparency, so our new fees are readily available on our website answer here.

Results, Recalls and Reminders

Patients can expect to be contacted via text message or email for any necessary recalls. Regarding normal results, routine phone calls are not conducted as a standard practice. However, should results demand immediate attention, our dedicated practice nurse will reach out with pertinent details. For non-urgent matters, patients will receive a follow-up text message.

What services do you provide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for a Medicare rebate to come back into my account?

If the claim is processed via easy claim, the rebate should be back into your account immediately.
If the claim is processed via Medicare online claiming, the rebate can be expected to be received within 48 hours.

Repeat prescription and referrals

Please make an appointment (Telephone/ face-to-face) for repeat scripts, medical certificates or referrals. We can only offer telephone consults if you've visited our medical center within the last 12 months. Telephone consult fees are time based and are equivalent to our face-to-face consultation.

Will I be charged for a consult for my result?

At our clinic, we aim to provide transparent and fair billing practices. In line with this, we do charge for appointments specifically booked to discuss test results. This is because these appointments involve the time and expertise of our healthcare professionals to review and interpret your results thoroughly, ensuring that you receive the appropriate guidance and follow-up care based on those results. However, if your results require urgent attention, our practice nurse may contact you without an additional charge. If you have any concerns about fees or would like further clarification, please feel free to discuss this with our reception team when scheduling your appointment. We strive to ensure that all our patients receive high-quality care in a manner that is both affordable and equitable.
